About

Welcome to the new and improved version of CarveStarved.com!

Driveway

CarveStarved wants to be a chronicle of the lives of everyday women who skateboard, to promote the growth of skateboarding among adult women, and to provide a place to meet other women to skate with.

Think of CarveStarved as a community diary, or community magazine.

There are a lot of great skating sites out there, including those dedicated to women’s skateboarding. Take a look at the links on this site for a good sampling.

What CarveStarved wants to do is get into the details. And to follow the skating lives of individual riders. Their progression, their joy, their fears, their passion for the sport and its many facets.

Exactly how did you learn the ollie?
What was it like the first time you went to a skate park by yourself and were the only female there?
What’s it like to be well into adulthood, female adulthood, and learning to skate?
Or maybe you’ve always skated, maybe you can shred up a park or a street or a pool.
Maybe you started skating with your kids, and you loved it even more than they did.

Write about it, post photos, videos.

Did you go for a most excellent cruise on your longboard today? Tell everyone about it.
What’s the skate scene in your town like? Show it to us.

What are your favorite skate shops? Favorite parks? Streets? Hills?

These are the kinds of things I wanted to know when I first started skating, and they’re the kinds of things I still want to read about and see.

We believe that skateboarding is an art, a sport, a fully felt experience of the mind, body, and soul. And that its every expression, through the individuality of the skater, is unique and interesting.

If it’s the life of an everyday skateboarder, if it’s female oriented, and if you agree with the above,
then contribute to this site. Share your unique version of this passion fueled sport with us!
